Art. 1 –The Cultural and Music Association "EUTERPE" indexes and organizes:

 

The 11th Music Competition "EUTERPE",

that will be placed at the

“ Nicotell Wellness Hotel”, Corato (BA)

 from  27th May to 6th June 2010.

 

with the Sponsorship of:

 

 

Art. 2 –Aim of  The Competition is to promote “Musical Culture”, to near young students

             to the study of music, to discover young talents and to attract new visitors

             to our outstanding and unique beauty of the southern italian “Apulia” Region.

             All Italian and Foreign musicians can enroll themselves to the Competition.

 

 

Art. 3 - The Competition articulates itself in 5 sections:

 

1)  SOLOIST (Pianoforte -  Strings - Voice - Guitar);

2)  PIANO  (4 HANDS);

3) CHAMBER MUSIC (from “Duo” on, whatever formation with or without piano

                                          ought to be  max lengh  9 members);

4)  CHORAL GROUPS, ORCHESTRAL GROUPS And SIMILAR

5)  INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION,  “Premio Euterpe”.

Piano

D) – For who’s born from  1st January  1995 on.  Max lengh13 mins.

N. B.  For sections 2, 3, 4 the category of belongings of the contenders is determined from the average of the years of birth of the members.

 

Section 5   INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION   Premio Euterpe

 

The competition is opened to pianists born  from Jenuary 1970 on.

 

The competition is divided into two parts: selection exams and final exams.

 

The selection exams  2/3 june  at  9,00   free choice of musical excerpt of up to 25 minutes.

 

Final exams      4/5  june   free choice of  musical excerpt of up to 45 minutes.

 

Candidates cannot repeat the same pieces performed in the selection exams.

All pieces have to be performed without score.

 

Art. 5 - The absolute winners of the previous edition can  enroll to an advanced category .

 

Art. 6 - Every contender can enroll more sections, but to one single category of  each section.

 

Art. 7 - The contenders can enroll themselves to an advanced category .

 

Art. 8 - The official competition calendar will be published on May 19 th, 2010. Candidates can telephone for information  on 39-080- 8983870 or 39-3477169348 or 39-3203128622 (English language better if with SMS)  or can access the Competition website: www.concorsoeuterpe.it

 

Art. 9 - All the exams are open to the public. The results are announced at the end of each exam.

 

Art. 10  - Candidates will  be called in alphabetic order, starting from the surname chosen by lot by the members of the Organizing Committee the day before the Competition.

Candidates who arrive late will only be allowed to participate if the Judges agree. 

 

Art. 11 - Candidates must exhibit their personal identification documents and two copies of their chosen pieces to the Judges before the exam.

 

REGISTRATION

 

Art. 12 - All registration forms must be sent to the Association within May 9th,  2010. (The date on the envelope is considered as binding. ) Candidates must include a copy of their birth certificate (or signed declaration thereof) and the registration fee made out to the “Associazione culturale musicale Euterpe” Via Andria, 17, 70033 Corato (Ba) Italy. Registration forms can also be handed in directly at the Association office.

Incomplete registration forms are not valid.

 

Art. 13  - Art. 9 - The fee is not subject to refund, except in the case of cancellation of the Competition. Fees can be paid by money transfer on:

The Registration fee includes for all candidates a digitally recorded CD copy of their  performance, edited by AUDIONOVA Immagine Sonora, Matera.

 

The participants who need a pianist companion have to indicate it in the registration card, have  to enclose one copy of the pianistica part and have  to pay  the following additional quotas:

  THE JUDGES

 

Art. 14 - The Panel, selected by members of the Organizing Committee, will be made up of teachers from The Conservatory, concert artists and well-known musicians.

 

Art. 15 - The Judges’ decisions are final; Judges can interrupt performances if and when they exceed the time limit (see number 3). Judges who have in the last two years or who are currently teaching one or more of the candidates must declare this at the beginning of the exam and will subsequently abstain from casting votes for those candidates.

The Competition has three prizes.

 

First Prize: a grant of €. 1500,00,    2 concerts,  First Prize diploma, trophy or plaque.

 

Second Prize: a grant  of €. 800,00, 1 concert,  Second Prize diploma, trophy or plaque.

 

Third Prize:a grant  of  €. 500,00 , Third Prize diploma, trophy or plaque.

 

All finalists will receive a Finalists Diploma, a medal, 1 overnight  stay to a conventioned hotel

N.B. The grant of € is a gross figure.

 

They will be moreover assigns to you:

 

1 Concerts prize to the absolute winner of the Section 1 PIANOFORTE cat. H. 

1 Concerts prize to the absolute winner with higher score between the solisti of the Section 1:  STRINGHES (cat. F), WOODWINDSS (cat. E) and GUITAR (cat.E)

1 Concerts prize to the absolute winner with higher score between section 2 (cat. E ) and sez. 3 (cat. D). If  there were not  absolutes winners in the previewed categories, the Concerts could be assigned to others first prizes from artistic director.

For  the “Concerts prize”  (offered from important Institutions ) it is previewed the reimbursement expenses only for the Italian territory,after having shown the tikets.

 

To those who will take a score from 98 to 100  it will be given  the FIRST ABSOLUTE PRIZE diploma and a cup.

 

 

To those who will take a score from 95 to 97  it will be given  the FIRST PRIZE diploma and a cup.

 

To those who will take a score from 90 to 94  it will be given  the SECOND  PRIZE diploma and one Medal.

 

To those who will take a score from 85 to 89  it will be given  the THIRD  PRIZE diploma  and one Medal.

 

To those who will take a score from 80 to 84  it will be given  the QUARTER  PRIZE Diploma and one Medal.

 

To those who will take a score from 70 to 79  it will be given   the MERIT Diploma and one Medal.

 

HONOR DIPLOMA will be given to the best teacher.

 

An overnight stay well be given to the teacher who will enroll the greatest number of pupils (at least 5) .

 

 

Art. 19 - The winners will receive their prizes during the closing evening ceremony, and only then, or risk loosing the prize. Other prizes may be collected in the Secretariat during the Competition itself. First prize winners , and other prize winners selected by the Judges, will perform for free in full concert dress in the Final Concert to be held on June 7th. These performances will be recorded live on C.D. for Fare Live.

 

Special Price  “12ª Edizione”

·      1 Ipod nano  Apple  to draw lots between all the contenders enrolled the competition.

·      A long weekend for 4 persons in an apartment (2 overnight stay in B&B exclusive of August) to “U Cecere” drawn lots between the teachers of 2 or more  pupils (every 2 pupils 1 ticket for deawing).

 

During the Final Concert, the following awards will be given:

 

 

 

 

Art. 20 - The organizers reserve the right to make any changes to these rules deemed necessary.

 

Art. 21 - The Musical Association “Euterpe” is not responsible for any accidents or damage that may occur to people or things during the journey or during the Competition itself.

 

Art. 22 - These rules are unconditionally binding.

 

Art. 23 -. All personal information given to the Musical Association Euterpe is strictly confidential in accordance with Italian Law (Art. 10 Law 675/96).
